Permitted Areas

Only graduates and Commencement personnel will be permitted in graduate areas pre-ceremony.

No children or guests will be permitted in the graduate seating or on stage.

All candidates should plan to meet their guests outside the venue after the ceremony.

Guests will be asked to exit before meeting their graduates so we can prepare for the next ceremony.

Permitted & Prohibited Items

All individuals and their belongings are subject to search. The following information is subject to change without notice.

Guests with medical bags or items they must carry with them must be inspected and have a wristband placed on it to show that it has been inspected. PLEASE ARRIVE EARLIER TO AVOID LAST-MINUTE GATE PRESSURE.

The following ARE NOT PERMITTED in the venues:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Bags that violate the Clear Bag Policy, including diaper bags
  • Lights, tripods, selfie-sticks, monopods and poles
  • Flash photography
  • Coolers, including soft-sided coolers
  • Confetti, glitter, Silly String, fireworks, flares, optical illusions, laser pointers of any type, or other elements used to cause a distraction or disturbance
  • Klaxons, bullhorns, whistles or any other noisemakers
  • Helium balloons
  • Projectiles, including footballs, Frisbees, bats, clubs, inflatables, etc.
  • Flags, signs or banners larger than 11’’X17’’
  • Drugs, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, marijuana products and substances deemed illegal
  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes
  • Pets
  • Offensive clothing
  • UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and drones
  • Weapons of any kind, including pocket knives
  • All objects deemed inappropriate

Anyone possessing PROHIBITED items will be asked to return them to their cars or dispose of them in the garbage cans provided at the gate.

The following ARE PERMITTED in the venues:

  • Bags that comply with the Clear Bag Policy
    • Clear bag up to 12”x6”x12”
    • Non-clear clutch up to 4.5”x6.5”
  • Blankets
  • Flags (no poles)
  • Food
  • Plastic water bottles
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Seat cushions
  • Stadium chairs
  • Strollers
  • Sunscreen and hand-powered misters
  • Umbrellas (no obstruction of other guests view)
  • Protective face coverings

Anyone possessing PROHIBITED items will be asked to return them to their cars or dispose of them in the garbage cans provided at the gate.
